A Rich Whiskey History

This work has been featured alongside with the Peoria Historical Society in the summer of 2021 and spring of 2022 at the Wheels O’ Time Museum. For living my whole life in the Peoria area, I found that I did not know much about the history of its distilling and brewing industry. This work came to life through a lot of research, the help of my grandfather, and several historical entities in the Peoria area. I learned more about the history of the alcohol industry that thrived here, and I decided to make imagery that depicted what used to be. I traveled to the locations where I had similar vantage points for the original images I had procured, shot what is there now, and superimposed the old businesses on top of my work to create a sense of nostalgia and rich historical context.
